Bolzano is one of my favorite cities. Nestled in the heart of South Tyrol, Bolzano is a captivating blend of Italian and Austrian cultures, offering stunning landscapes, rich history, and vibrant local traditions. Whether you are a history buff, a nature enthusiast, or a lover of fine wine and cuisine, Bolzano has something for everyone. Here are the ten best places to see and visit in this charming Alpine city. I decided to write this guide with the TOP things to do in Bolzano, to help you choose which attractions to focus on when visiting this cute town.

1. Piazza Walther

Piazza Walther, the central square of Bolzano, is the perfect starting point for your exploration. Named after the medieval poet Walther von der Vogelweide, this bustling square is surrounded by cafes, shops, and historic buildings. It is a great place to soak in the local atmosphere, enjoy a coffee, and marvel at the impressive statue of Walther in the center. I love having an aperitivo at Piazza di Walther and watch people walk by.
